Forum:Deleting a page (a template actually)
From Vim Tips Wiki
Hello,
As I wanted to add a Script template, I made a stupid mistake and now there is a completly useless template named "Template:Script id=50". I've tried to move it to an empty name with no success. It seems this operation can only be achieved by administrators (http://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:FAQ#How_do_I_delete_an_old_version_of_a_page.3F)
I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience :(

This tip could use to be deleted as well: Showing ascii value of the current character in decimal, hex, and octal. Its content is already included under Ascii Value, and the comments are tangential. While you're at it, you might rename Ascii Value to something like Showing the ASCII value of the current character, since it would appear that renaming is also an administrator privilege. (Or are we meant to create a new page, copy content over, fix any 'links to' the old page and submit the old page for deletion?)

Nevermind about renaming Ascii Value. I discovered the interface calls it 'moving' a page.

Note: I've found that for other pages that just need to be deleted, there is a {{delete}} template -- see Template:Delete.
