I tried latest version (from git) and the autocomplete tags works but the folding sends this error (roughly translated from spanish) An error has being detected while processing function <SNR>28?_FoldTag: line 6 E350: Cannot create a fold with the active 'foldmethod'. Press Enter or type a command to continue.
I tried it with a simple <h|tml>

The Pipe would be the cursor i also tried <html> </ht|ml>
Same error, my file was .html and i made a link from the xml.vim to html.vim
I'll try older versions.
