First, from the vim.org page at http://www.vim.org/scripts/script.php?script_id=2112
Make sure the extension ahk is mapped to this syntax file. To do that, go to /vimYourVersionNb/filetype.vim and add:
" Autohotkey au BufNewFile,BufRead *.ahk setf autohotkey
However, from the autohotkey.vim file, comments at the top:
Add this line to filetype.vim:
au BufNewFile,BufRead *.ahk setf ahk
Contradication in bold. I believe the instructions for the second one are correct (the comment from the actual file).
and I have no idea what the crap below is about..
Well. I'm told: "You've followed a link to a page that doesn't exist yet. To create the page, start typing in the box below (please read our new tip guidelines first). See the new page help for pages that are not tips. If you are here by mistake, just click your browser's back button."
My short term memory...IS... (Failing me). Ergo no total recall to provide a clear path here.
Was at a autohotkey.vim or vim/autohotkey page that had a wiki(a) (empty, turns out) link for more info. Somehow I ended up at this page titled "Vim the editor (icon?) Script2112".
Only populating this so whomever manages such might be interested in how it occurred.
Now to go back and figure out how to get the autohotkey script to link to Vim. Or Vica versa.
An Aside: Be nice if there was an obvious way to cc this to my mailbox.
PS: No I didn't read the noobies stuff. I have real problems like a main water line leak that I'm waiting for the hot water heater to drain so I can repair it. :-( --September 3, 2012
- Yes, there are quite a lot of things on my TODO list, and I think I can fix the silly message you get when someone arrives here...but it's not going to happen for a while I'm afraid. I'll probably delete this comment in due course, but I'll add it to my notes on what needs to be done. There is no way to cc to your mailbox in the MediaWiki software here, and I don't think it would be widely used. Would people really want to fill in their email address in a form on a strange website that claims it will handily email you your text?
- You could have just used your browser's "back" to return to wherever you were, if really wanted. JohnBeckett (talk) 07:16, September 4, 2012 (UTC)
