Sometimes a tip contains obsolete or unhelpful information, and it is removed. Or, the topic of a tip may be better explained in another tip, so the former is merged to the latter.
When a tip is removed, we attempt to keep the title and its associated VimTipNr page in order to minimize the number of broken incoming links. Where possible, the old pages are replaced with a redirect to a tip with relevant information.
In some cases, a tip is removed and there is no useful redirect that can be provided. When that occurs, a link to this page is given in order to show a brief explanation (see what links here for examples).
