I've been a vi user since 1985 and a Vim contributor since 1995. I wrote a lot of the Win32 console-mode code for vim.exe back in the Vim 4.x days. I also put together a proof-of-concept implementation of Gvim on Windows that other people turned into Windows Gvim 5.0. More recently, I ported Vim to Win64, just because.
