Willkommen, bienvenue, welcome, welkomEdit
Welcome to our wiki! We hope you can make continuing contributions of articles and/or discussion and other improvements.
If you are new to Wikia or wikis in general, be sure to visit the "Community portal" for an outline of some of the main parts of the site and a link to pages that tell you how to edit.
Do keep an eye on the "recent changes" page, where all edits and their authors (anonymous or signed-in) are listed. Bookmark it, maybe. (And help delete spam - unpleasant but a fact of life.)
Discussion of any aspect of the site, and enquiries, can be made at Talk:Main_Page or on the "discussion" page associated with each article. It helps if you sign and date your contributions there, so that readers know "who to talk to" and whether your message is probably still of current interest. If you write on a user's "talk" page, that user will get an alerting message on next visit.
(It would help some of us to know how you discovered this site.)

Hi Heptite - I'm glad you're here working hard because I was starting to get a bit discouraged at the low activity. I've done a fair bit of editing, but I'm taking a few days to concentrate on the Template:Help script, and then I want to sort out how to delete the not-so-good tips. I'll post on the vim-l list about that. If you don't feel like joining, you may like to see the archive
It looks like you've been systematically fixing the VimTipXXX pages which don't redirect correctly. I have fixed a few. Bastl told me that all I had to do was to remove the last newline (go to end of edit, and press backspace). I've done that a few times and it works.
My very vague understanding of wikis makes me think that removing the Category:VimTip, as you have done, is probably the correct thing to do. However, bastl seems to want the Category:VimTip retained.
One feature of having it included is that the Category:VimTip page will then list all the VimTip redirect pages. I'm not convinced that is a good thing, and I don't know if there's some other reason for wanting it.
So, I'm just telling you what I know ... more heat than light, I'm afraid.
