Alternatively, comments can be posted on the mailing list.
|Proposed new tip||Current consensus|
|Always start on first line of git commit message||Keep|
|Easier buffer switching with buffer listing||Merged to VimTip873|
|JavaFX indent plugin||Keep|
|Synchronize configuration to many computers||Keep|
Keep I commented on the page that, including the proposed new tip, we have three short tips relating to git, and that possibly some merging should occur. However, on reflection, since git is still rather new, and since the topics are different, I think merging would be too complex, and we may as well keep each. I will again register my irritation with tips that leave the average reader wondering what on earth the tip is talking about (why would you do all that stuff when
gg seems manageable?). In fact, if anyone wants it deleted, please say so! JohnBeckett 07:23, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
Merged to VimTip873. The code seems to have some problems that I have noted at 873, and we probably have listed enough ways to switch buffers. The image in the proposed tip does not seem particularly helpful (see old revision), and I will nominate the image for deletion in due course. I am keeping the proposed new tip title as a redirect. Keep The page is not really what we want here but I believe this should be kept because there is no other good place for collaborative development, and someone might come later to improve the code. I just learned that
:call confirm('Hello, world') pops up a dialog, so I intend keeping all the debug code at the moment. Normally I would "standard format" the code, but I don't think that would help in this case, although I might clean it up after some months. JohnBeckett 07:23, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
Keep I would like the question I asked in the Comments answered, but we have nothing like this and it looks potentially useful (although I would never pass my data through a third party). JohnBeckett 07:23, April 27, 2010 (UTC)
